Full concentration after eighth place in Monaco on the "home game" in Riesenbeck

The Riesenbeck International team wants to attack again in two weeks' time

The tenth leg of the Global Champions League in Monaco was once again held on the sandy course in front of the Port Hercule harbor, where the yachts are moored with a view of the equestrian sport. A spectacular location!

Eoin McMahon and his new horse Cornest and Philipp Schulze Topphoff and his mare Carla competed for Team Riesenbeck International. With a knockdown from Eoin and a clear round from Philipp, the evening sun was still shining on the satisfied riders after round one.

However, this changed in round two. With three knockdowns from Cornest and another from Carla, Riesenbeck International lost touch with the leaders and finished in eighth place.

The ladies from Cannes Stars won ahead of the Prague Lions and Valkenswaard United.

Now Riesenbeck are concentrating on the upcoming "home game" at their own facility (July 18 to 21). Christian Kukuk and Philipp Weishaupt, who have been nominated for the Olympic Games in Paris, will be back to strengthen the team and ensure that the points account is filled with great support from the public.

Riesenbeck International is in fourth place in the interim rankings. The declared aim is to close the gap to the leaders.

Team boss Ludger Beerbaum: "After a strong first round, Eoin's second round unfortunately showed the horse's limits at this level. Annoying but can't be helped at the moment."
